OUR STORY

INDROTEK’s roots begin with Stratocom, which pioneered aerial meter reading more than a decade ago and proved that airborne sensing could become a scalable, recurring enterprise service. Building on this foundation, InDro Robotics emerged as a national leader in unmanned systems, advancing BVLOS operations, supporting first responders, enabling prescription delivery trials, and demonstrating 5G-enabled autonomous flights that helped shape Canada’s regulatory landscape. InDro’s development of the ROLL-E ground delivery platform and the Cortex autonomy stack further showcased its ability to turn innovation into mission-ready dual-purpose capability. As Bravo Zulu expanded the ecosystem with configurable counter-drone and airspace-security technologies, INDROTEK evolved into a unified robotics group integrating autonomy software, advanced hardware, field operations, and data services, that positions Canada as a global leader in responsible and intelligent autonomous robotics.

2011 – Stratocom was Founded – Stratocom pioneers aerial meter reading, establishing the foundation for enterprise data services.

2014 – InDro Robotics was Founded – The company was founded on Salt Spring Island, focuses on R&D for drones and robotics serving public safety and remote logistics.

2015 – First Responder Programs – Early integrations with fire and paramedic services proved practical emergency use-cases for UAVs.

2016 – Transport Canada BVLOS Trials – Selected for early BVLOS testing, establishing InDro’s regulatory and technical credibility.

2018 – Canada’s First BVLOS Medication Delivery – Completed a landmark BVLOS prescription delivery trial with London Drugs and Canada Post.

2019 – 5G Flight Demonstrations – Partnered with Rogers and UBC to demonstrate 5G-enabled drone flights and low-latency teleoperation.

2020 – CTA Cargo Licence & Area X.O – Received Canada’s first CTA cargo licence for drones and established an R&D hub at Area X.O in Ottawa.
